The Pee Dee Area Council is divided into three geographic districts: Atakwa (Florence, Chesterfield, Darlington, Marlboro and Williamsburg Counties), Chicora (Horry, Marion and Dillon counties), and Henry Shelor (Clarendon, Lee and Sumter counties).
These districts are tasked with delivering the program, reaching more youth and adults served, raising its share of the money necessary to fund the council’s operations, and providing service to the individual units (packs, troops, crews, posts) within their geographic areas.
Each district has a full time professional staff member called a District Executive who supports the Scouting efforts in their territory. Each district also has a committee of volunteers that provides various types of service and support to the individual units. These services include training, advancement support, membership recruiting, program development, fundraising, and public relations.
